Venture Out Wrapping up for the end of Season - Thanks to all our funders

As we get closer to the end of another busy season, its always enjoyable to take stock, clean and clear out, and pack all our equipment away until the start of next year. We’d like to thank all our funders for helping us source and purchase all our equipment and materials, without your support, it would not be possible to deliver our programs to those most in need at no cost to the participant. This further allows us to encourage more people from disadvantaged and marginalised communities to engage with the outdoors making them more accessible, affordable and inclusive.

This year we’d like to thanks;

Galway Rural Development

Forum Connemara and the Leader Programme

The RTE Comic Relief Fund

Throwback Thursday - This time 2 years ago!

Two years ago today…….waking up to frost on the tents!

This time 24 months ago, Venture Out were delivering our last expedition of the year. This was also the final expedition before the pandemic emerged.

We look forward to future programmes like this, where we don’t need to worry about social distancing, and where we can huddle around the stove in our teepee at the end of a tough day on the hills.

Nature lies at the heart of all we do!

At Venture Out, we deliver all our programmes through and within the outdoor natural environment. We use the outdoors in many different ways, and harness the power of nature in the work we do.

While some programmes are focused on outdoor adventure focused activities to create a challenge and an opportunity for participants to test themselves, their resilience and their resolve, Other programmes are much more focused on simply getting participants away from all the noise and into the calm of the nature.

Often, we hear participants on our wilderness based expeditions talk about the peace and head space they find when out in the wild. This break from the noise can be an important opportunity for them to clear their minds and focus on what’s really important.

Here’s a nice piece below on the value of time spent in nature…..click on the link
