Venture Out Delivering 1:1 Support For Teens Through Our Unearth Service

Between the storms, we are delighted to continue delivering our Unearth 1 to 1 support service for teenagers. We are currently working with a number of youth and family focused social care organisations to identify and engage those most in need.

Each 2-3 hour session with an experienced and qualified Venture Out Guide involves meeting a young person in an outdoor space, for a micro adventure involving a range of outdoor activities, while engaging the young participant in a range of personal development focused challenges and discussions.

We’d like to thank the Community Foundation and HSE National Lottery Funding for their support with this initiative throughout 2021-22.

Venture Out to deliver school based programme supporting young mens health and wellbeing

To combat a rise in mental health challenges amongst young boys and men, and to create a space to explore and talk about issues around the current pressures to conform to a masculine ideal that emphasizes values such as stoicism, toughness, and competitiveness, Venture Out have designed an experiential schools based programme for teens across the region.

We are hard at work planning and preparing for the roll out, and we very much look forward to delivering this much needed workshop to improve the students coping strategies, confidence and the way they see themselves and others within their community.

Spotlight on Research and Evidence - Impact of Outdoor Programmes

At Venture Out, we are aware of the importance of grounding our practice and approach in evidence, to ensure that our work is impactful and in line with best practice.
