Spotlight on Research and Evidence - Impact of Outdoor Programmes

At Venture Out, we are aware of the importance of grounding our practice and approach in evidence, to ensure that our work is impactful and in line with best practice. Each month we will endeavor to shine a light on research and evidence from around the world promoting the value and benefits of developmental work through the outdoors and the work we do.

This week, we will present a piece from New Zealand. The most significant piece we feel in this research is that ;

‘International meta-analyses have consistently found that participation in outdoor programmes significantly reduces criminal behavior for adolescent offenders (ages 10 – 21)’
