This initiative has been funded by the probation services to support and divert young people and young adults away from the criminal justice system through behavioural change.

The purpose of the programme is to support a group of young adults not currently in full time education, training or employment to develop and master a range of personal, social, emotional and life skills, and to help motivate and inspire them to make positive changes in their lives. We do this through the delivery of carefully planned and sequenced outdoor activities facilitated by skilled and experienced guides. The course has been designed to support a group of young adults aged between 20-29yrs of age to develop a range of personal skills through their participation in a range of outdoor based adventure activities. If you are currently not in education, training or employment, this programme is the perfect opportunity to take some time out to reflect on your circumstances and to develop an action plan for future progress.

Read MoreWhile the past 6 months have been incredibly difficult for so many, the past few weeks have provided us with an opportunity to deliver a number of much needed summer programmes, getting a number of young people back into the outdoors with friends and family. Thanks to SSE for part funding some of these programmes. We hope to continue this work throughout the autumn months, utilising the outdoor environment while government restrictions and weather conditions allow us.

Due to the impact of Covid 19 restrictions and guidelines, unlike our previous 7-day wilderness based expeditions, this project will be delivered over a 5 day period (9-5pm daily - without the overnight camping element) in a range of outdoor spaces around Galway city and county.
