Mountains as Metaphors - Some simple tips from Venture Out as we enter level 5 restrictions
While enjoying our final day on the hills yesterday for what could be some time, we couldn’t help but notice the symbolism and metaphors of the weather and mountains as we took on the 12 bens. With this in mind, here we share a few insights to help get you through lockdown.
No matter what the weather, get out there and explore your environment - its always worth it.
You cant climb a mountain without taking the first few steps - sometimes you just need to start … small to begin with and grow from there.
When the fog and cloud close in, don’t forget that ‘this too shall pass’
Don’t dwell on the negative (in our case…rain, wind, fog) embrace the positives (good company, fresh air, nature, adventure)
Have an overall plan and break it down into a few small manageable milestone goals to help achieve it
Remember, even when the sky is filled with clouds, the sun still shines above. It will return, you just need to patient and remain positive.
Connect with others, it can be more enjoyable to have a bit of company on the journey.
Challenge yourself everyday - be it physical or mental.
Regardless of the challenge, there will always be easy and difficult sections….embrace the rough with the smooth and try to enjoy the Journey
To conquer a mountain, you must overcome each small peak along the way ..but again you must choose and commit to starting in the first place.
Finally….Adventure is a state of mind …. choose your own path and follow it!
